Biography

Naz Ali is a senior actuary with over 13 years of experience across Life and General Insurance (GI) markets. He holds dual Fellowships as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA) and Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII), along with advanced qualifications as a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary (CERA) and Chartered Insurance Risk Manager. Additionally, Naz has earned a Certificate in Climate Risk and Sustainability from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), reflecting his commitment to integrating sustainable practices within the industry.

With extensive experience spanning across a number of areas; financial modelling, actuarial reporting, valuations, strategy, risk management, pricing, and reinsurance. Naz has worked for some of the biggest insurers in the UK, including Aviva, Legal & General, Phoenix, Royal London, Aegon, and M&G. He currently serves as a Senior Business Actuary at M&G, where he plays a pivotal role in the Finance Change Strategy and Target Operating Model, supporting the company’s strategic goals and growth initiatives within the Individual Life & Pensions, Corporate Risk Solutions, and International sectors.

Naz has a proven track record of leading and managing diverse teams through complex, high-impact projects, including major IFRS17 implementations and critical financial processes. He is skilled in engaging and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives. As a mentor for both the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) and the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), he is committed to nurturing the next generation of actuaries. Additionally, he serves as an active member of the Scottish Board, contributing to the advancement of the actuarial profession.
